Charles Phillips took about 6 weeks’ time to find his new job at Infor, after quitting from Oracle, where he was one of the Presidents of the company. He is now, the new chief executive for the company Infor that is named after its chief Charles Phillips Infor, which is a business software company and is located at Atlanta. The company became famous in the market for being the largest franchiser of business software.

The organization sells software worth $2 billion each year and most of the customers are midsized companies. Mr. Charles Phillips is very thrilled to join this company, as now he has the opportunity to head an application software company, which is selling various kinds of application software in very good volume.

Many of the chief executives are changing their places and hence, a good musical chair game can be seen in the business software products market. As Phillips left Oracle, the company immediately hired Mark V. Hurd, who was the former HP Chief Executive officer to fill up the gap created by him.

Charles Phillips Infor was established in the year 2002. So far, the company has been targeting smaller sized customers, which was neglected by giants like SAP, IBM or Oracle. The total business of the company over the years grew by selling their software to various financial service sectors or manufacturing companies. The company has so far made 70 different acquisitions. The products that the company sells are CRM, workforce Management, expense management and software for supply chain managements etc.

Charles Phillips has joined Infor together with 4 other senior executives from Oracle. Infor is planning to release many new products in the coming months and with the presence of so many executives of Oracle, it is going to be pretty exciting. Phillips will continue to work from Atlanta, from where he had completed his High School. Therefore, it is going to be very advantageous for him as he has many good connections.

Infor at the moment is busy in opening its Initial Public Offer and there is every possibility that companies like SAP, IBM and Oracle are going to participate in it very keenly. The presence of so many executives of Oracle in the company is also going to make the scene very interesting.

All the challenges the company faced for the acquisition of 70 companies is an old story now. The market force is now going to decide the fate of this Initial Public Offer.
